The North American League Championship Series has officially announced the participant lists for the highly anticipated “Classic Showmatch” event that will feature iconic players from Cloud9 and Team SoloMid’s historic rosters.
Ten legendary competitors will make their return to the professional stage to reignite what many consider the most intense rivalry in LCS history. For Cloud9’s representation, the organization has selected the exact five-player configuration that competed under their banner during the championship-winning period spanning 2013 through 2015.
The returning Cloud9 veterans represent one of the most successful eras in North American League of Legends history:
- Top lane: An “BalIs” Van Le
- Jungle: William “Meteos” Hartman
- Mid lane: Hai “Hai” Du Lam
- ADC: Zachary “Sneaky” Scuderi
- Support: Daerek “LemonNation” Hart
This particular roster configuration not only dominated the domestic LCS competition but also represented North America at multiple prestigious international tournaments. Their competitive resume includes appearances at Intel Extreme Masters Seasons 8 and 9, the 2014 All-Star event, and consecutive World Championship appearances in both 2014 and 2015. This iteration of Cloud9 is widely regarded as one of the most memorable team compositions in the organization’s history, achieving the notable accomplishment of advancing to the quarterfinals stage at the World Championship tournament.

Representing Team SoloMid in this nostalgic competition, the following players will take their positions on Summoner’s Rift:
- Top lane: Marcus “Dyrus” Hill
- Jungle: Brian “TheOddOne” Wyllie
- Mid lane: Joedat “Voyboy” Esfahani
- ADC: Jason “WildTurtle” Tran
- Support: Alex “Xpecial” Chu
With the single exception of Voyboy, who brings his own unique legacy to the matchup, all other members of this TSM lineup were integral components of the organization’s competitive roster during the 2013-2014 competitive seasons.
The special exhibition match is scheduled to occur on Friday, July 10 beginning at 7:00 PM Central Standard Time. This nostalgic competition will serve as an exciting prelude to the weekend’s featured LCS matchup between the current Cloud9 and Team SoloMid squads.
TSM meets C9 in the 2020 LCS Summer Split
Week five of the competition marks the conclusion of the initial half of the summer split regular season. Thus far in the tournament, Cloud9 has maintained an impeccable undefeated record throughout the first four weeks of play. With eight consecutive decisive victories already secured, Cloud9 currently holds undisputed possession of first place in the standings. The team’s dominant performance has created the perception that no other LCS organization possesses the capability to seriously challenge their supremacy. Team SoloMid will represent the final opportunity among the teams competing for second position to potentially disrupt Cloud9’s flawless run.

Team SoloMid is experiencing a respectable season performance in their own right, having suffered only two losses up to this point in the competition. The collective execution and coordination of the team has demonstrated noticeable improvement since their challenging opening week performance against Team Liquid. TSM appears significantly more synchronized and strategically cohesive, though the critical question remains whether these improvements will prove sufficient to overcome Cloud9’s current dominance.
During the spring split, Team SoloMid distinguished themselves as the sole organization capable of securing a victory against Cloud9, thereby ending their perfect season record. Now entering the summer portion of the competitive year, TSM aims to deliver Cloud9 their inaugural defeat at an even earlier stage in the seasonal schedule.
C9 and TSM will compete in their official LCS match on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 PM Central Standard Time.
